Dude, the surf’s always up in Oceanside, especially in the early morning. Peaks break along Pacific Street and The Strand from Buccaneer Beach in south Oceanside to the pier. Or catch some cranking waves at the Jetty, at the foot of South Harbor Drive and the mouth of the San Luis Rey River.

If you’d rather kick back and watch the pros walk on water, you’re in luck. Oceanside is a stop for some of the world’s best surfing competitions, including the U.S. Surfing Championships and the World Body Surfing Championships. And if you’re longing to learn how to surf, there are surf camps for the kids, and one-on-one instruction for adults. You’ll be hanging ten in no time.
